Think of secondary metal making, mineral processing or battery recycling, where different grades of input feed, like scrap or mineral ore, are moved via cranes and mobile loaders and blended before processing. Material inputs greatly affect downstream processes, but the combination of uncertain quality and manual handling creates a fundamental visibility gap, forcing operators to rely on coarse estimations and suboptimal rules of thumb when making process decisions.
