Earthborn pottery is a high-fired stoneware used in restaurants worldwide. It is vitrified and impressively strong, due to the processes developed over years of empirically testing the relationship of the clay to the glaze, and its maturity in the fire. It is high in iron, which interacts with the glazes, imbuing warmth and integrity to the vessel adding strength in the process. The boro-silicate glazes coat the clay in a durable, scratch-resistant colored glass giving the piece more strength, stability, and beauty. Developing the chef/restaurateur as my primary market has allowed me to create for the creative, design for the artist, and deliver a collaborative functional product available to the food service professional in no other way. Growing my business from my basement to my current 24,000 sq ft facility has been my pleasure, my passion, and my pain throughout the years, which have been spent developing processes and discovering the secrets of the earth and fire.
