Concrete Testing Adherence Collaboration (CTAC)
Listing Description
The Concrete Testing Adherence Collaboration (CTAC) is an industry-driven program developed by the Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association (CRMCA) to improve the consistency, reliability, and transparency of concrete testing practices across the construction industry.
CTAC provides a structured, project-based observation tool that evaluates how field testing and initial curing of concrete specimens are performed on active job sites. Observers use the CTAC platform to document real-world testing conditions, compare practices to ASTM and ACI requirements, and generate objective, data-driven feedback for companies, project teams, and agencies.
By capturing consistent information from across the country, CTAC helps identify strengths, training needs, and trends within the testing process—creating a shared foundation for improvement among producers, contractors, testing firms, and owners. The results support collaboration rather than compliance, helping all stakeholders work together toward a common goal: reliable, representative concrete test results that truly reflect the quality of the concrete being placed.
Participating organizations use CTAC data to strengthen training, enhance communication between project partners, and verify that their testing practices align with industry standards. Reports and dashboards allow managers to review performance across projects, track improvement over time, and better understand how field conditions impact test results.
Since its launch, CTAC has expanded nationally through partnerships with ready mixed concrete associations, DOTs, and private companies across multiple states. The program continues to evolve with new digital tools, simplified reporting, and focused efforts on critical topics such as initial curing environments and project-based data analysis.
CTAC’s mission is simple: to improve concrete testing through collaboration, consistency, and communication.
