Colton Cyr, a passionate 14-year-old entrepreneur, is looking to make waves in the toy industry with the launch of Dough Babies, a line of safe, and inclusive plush toys designed to bring joy to children while prioritizing their safety and representation. Inspired by the shocking discovery that his younger sister’s plush toys contained toxic chemicals, Cyr set out to create a solution: a line of non-toxic, sustainable, and irresistibly adorable toys that parents can trust, and kids will love! Each Dough Baby is thoughtfully crafted to meet the highest international safety standards, using non-toxic, organic, and sustainable materials. The cuddly companions celebrate the diversity of the world by featuring a range of skin tones and backgrounds, giving every child a chance to see themselves reflected in their toys. Cyr’s Dough Babies collection features an array of wonderful, huggable, oversized plush characters, from charming Boy and Girl Babies to whimsical animals like Pandas, Penguins, and Porcupines, as well as mythical creatures like Dragons and Mermaids! Accessories are also available for the toys, giving kids the chance to personalize their cuddly friends with additional layers of charm and imagination. Part of what makes Dough Babies truly unique is their individuality. Many of their features are handmade, ensuring that no two dolls are alike; just like the children who adopt them. “Kids toys should be safe, fun, and reflect the world we live in,” said Colton Cyr, creator of Dough Babies. “Every child has a favorite doll or stuffed animal that goes everywhere with them. I wanted to make something that was healthier, lovable, and more personal – a toy that kids could see themselves in and feel loved and celebrated.”
The inspiration for Dough Babies came not just from the young entrepreneur’s passion for sustainability and inclusiveness but also his drive to ensure toys are as safe as they are cute. Cyr’s journey has been inspired and supported by his father, Dr. Steven Cyr, MD, a dual board certified orthopedic and cosmetic surgeon. Backed by his father’s medical expertise, Colton ensured that each Dough Baby would be safe for the youngest and even the most sensitive children, using soft, organic fabrics and eco-friendly stuffing.
His commitment also extends beyond the toys themselves. For every Dough Baby purchased, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to charities supporting children with illnesses, helping spread love and care far beyond playrooms!
