InstaChord Corp. is a Japanese electronic musical instrument manufacturer dedicated to making music more accessible, intuitive, and enjoyable for everyone. Our mission is to remove the barriers that often prevent people from playing, composing, and creating music, regardless of their musical background, age, or technical skill level.

At the core of our product philosophy is the belief that music creation should be immediate and inspiring, not limited by complex techniques or theoretical knowledge. To achieve this, we design and develop both hardware and software in an integrated manner, focusing on usability, clarity, and creative freedom.

Our flagship products, KANTAN Play and InstaChord, represent a new approach to electronic musical instruments. Unlike traditional instruments that require years of practice, these tools allow users to perform chord-based music, create accompaniments, and compose songs through simple, intuitive operations.

InstaChord is built around our original concept known as KANTAN Music, which replaces conventional chord symbols with numeric degrees. This system enables users to understand and control chord progressions logically and visually, making it especially approachable for beginners while remaining powerful for experienced musicians. With minimal input, users can play full chords, create harmonic progressions, and explore musical ideas instantly.

KANTAN Play takes this philosophy even further by emphasizing compact design and direct interaction. It is designed as a hands-on musical tool where the boundary between “playing” and “composing” disappears, allowing users to focus purely on musical expression.

Both products support MIDI connectivity, making them compatible with DAWs, software instruments, and external sound modules. As a result, they are used not only for personal enjoyment, but also in music education, songwriting, workshops, studio production, and live performance environments.

InstaChord Inc. continuously explores new possibilities for electronic musical instruments by combining innovative interface design with practical musical functionality. While rooted in Japan, we actively engage with the global music community and are expanding our presence in international markets.
