Vantablack

Surrey Nanosystems Ltd is the developer and sole manufacturer of the Vantablack range of super-black coatings. Vantablack S-VIS is the world’s darkest commercially available black coating, with a performance that extends from UV to well beyond FIR at almost any Angle of Incidence.

Vantablack S-VIS was first flown operationally in space in 2015 and is now used across multiple missions for stray light control in baffles and lens tubes and in blackbody calibration systems.

This year the company will be announcing a new space qualified wet paint product suitable for customer application with excellent handleability and an optical performance significantly better than traditional and well used alternative black paints in this space.
