Measurement Labs
Listing Description
Measurement Labs is building infrastructure intelligence for modern utilities.
Utilities face rapid load growth, increasing outages from extreme weather, and rising regulatory demands for asset-level data. Yet visibility into distribution infrastructure remains limited: records are incomplete, field conditions change faster than documentation, and manual inspection is too slow and costly to scale.
Measurement Labs delivers a living model of the grid edge: spatially and temporally resolved data on distribution assets and the surrounding environment – faster and more affordably than current approaches. We operate as a lightweight software layer between raw data and decision-making, without disrupting workflows.
Our platform is imagery-agnostic and integration-first. We ingest street-level, aerial, and satellite imagery from any source, alongside utility and third-party data; allowing utilities to move quickly, avoid vendor lock-in, and leverage data and relationships they already have.
Using computer vision and machine learning, we generate network and asset mapping and intelligence, electrification signals from DERs, and risk and condition insights. This enables lower inspection costs, optimized grid planning and load modelling, condition-based maintenance and vegetation management, faster outage response and reduced SAIDI, audit-ready data for wildfire and DER mandates, and detection of unbilled third-party attachments.
Beyond these core capabilities, grid-edge visibility enables novel, bespoke solutions tailored to specific utilities’ needs.
Measurement Labs operates as a standalone platform or integrates with existing systems and vendors, providing a unified intelligence layer built for speed, flexibility, and scale.
